September 3, 2020, St. Catharines, ON – Fastek Inc. continues to expand its growing menu of products and services and is now selling GPS solutions to its base of construction, industrial, and mechanical customers across Ontario. The power tool and fastener retailer has inked an agreement with WhereSafe GPS, to resell its technologies in Fastek’s three Ontario retail locations – St. Catharines, Hamilton and Barrie.
“My customers, either small independent contractors or large operators, invest large amounts of money in the equipment and assets they need to succeed,” say Harry Klassen, President at Fastek. “We see this as an opportunity to provide our clients solutions to help protect those assets, whether they are on the jobsite, or at home in the garage.”
The initial product being offered at Fastek stores is a rechargeable, magnetic GPS tracking modem that can be attached to virtually any high value (metal) piece of equipment (eg. cars/trucks, tractors, bobcats, generators, excavators, shipping containers, etc. ). Fastek will also sell WhereSafe’s OBD plug-in GPS modem and the Sport Tracker. The GPS system is accessed through a mobile phone or desktop app, where users can easily see the real-time exact location of the asset. The app will automatically notify users if an asset is moved after hours, moved outside a predefined area, is moving too fast and more.
“Construction equipment is amongst the fastest growing segments for our business, as operators see an increasing need to always know the whereabouts of assets and employees,” says Vince Poloniato, President at Solutions Into Motion, the parent company of WhereSafe. “We also know, especially for the smaller businesses, that our magnetic GPS units can easily be transferred into family vehicles and toys to keep track of them for family safety or theft recovery as well.”
The launch of the products at Fastek is taking place from September 3 to 30 and includes an in store promotion to offering the chance to win three free WhereSafe real-time magnetic GPS trackers and one year of free service (one per Fastek location).
